Boating Pool and Cabin Lift

The Cabin lift at North Shore was built in the 1930 and designed by John Charles Robinson who was a surveyor for the borough. It was used to move passengers between the upper promenade and the lower promenade walkway, artificial cliffs and the boating pool. The pool is now used as a karting race circuit and the lift remains closed. In 2010 the cabin was granted grade II listed building status which will hopefully keep it safe for future generations to enjoy.
