This is my 1950s Aldis slide projector, found on Deptford Market many years ago. This robust, space age looking machine inspired me to start collecting all types of photographic slides. There is something really beautiful about projected images, they are very crisp and the colours really shine with the light.
When the fan gets going it makes a wonderful whirring noise. There are two slots for holding the 35mm slides, so getting through a box of transparencies takes quite a while.
